Phibs came back to Sydney for a week for his show here at China heights, so we caught up after the show and hit up my studio roof top on Oxford st.

Andy Uprock is a Sydney based artist whos work includes transforming streetscapes into large floating cup installations. The method and practice of his work runs parallel to the culture of graffiti and he titles this movement 'Cuprocking.'



With the support of Mooks and VICE, Andy is taking on fences around the world along with photographer Juan Mon and videographer Brett Chan.
Barcelona 30 06 08 BARCI…AFTER 35 HOURS of travel and losing our tour manager we arrived in barci, by the first day there was cups rockin on rooftops   and after three days of exhibiting and partying we were well accustomed in Spanish company..fresh fruit beautiful women and hot sun…vido de largo el partido!
Paris 05 07 08 Paris…after leaving the party train in barci, we came back to earth in paris ,no mission was complete without baguettes and red wine and by the day of dodging guards n police we conquered the parisien streets, 6 pieces in 5 days , magnifique!
London 10 07 08 London ….london was definitely calling but after arriving, again it felt like party time and London was calling us straight to the bar..i wasn’t too happy with the fences in the show so I knew I had to show my worth on the grimey streets..and we did exactly that ,come September  there’s still two pieces up in tact in east London..nice one geezer.
New York 18 07 08 NY… new york new york it’s a hell of a town ,while I get UP party people get down…the mothership of cities provided us with $2 Brooklyn pizza, girls that glowed in the  NY sunshine ,  early 90’s NBA Deadstock  snap back hats  And a whole lot of love…
we worked hard on  this show  with some dilema’s  , the fence being too big to fit through the door and that left us a  day to build a fence,  every brookyln kat turned up and it was a success.
Los Angeles 20 07 08 LA ….from gangland highland park to  rappin with L.A.C.K on the Hollywood boulevard ,chillin bob dillan in our rooftop pool to   three hours of hiking through the Glendale valley to cuprock a water tank, this was our west side story
Tokyo 25 07 08 Tokyu … just  watch out for control in tokyu ,we had a few run ins but nothing we couldn’t handle, got ‘stuck in an elevator’ ,ate so much sushi I turned into a salmon, hit the streets up relentlessly , especially Shinjuku and got my soldier boyye on with yakuza kids, all work no play makes jack a dull boy.
Kuala Lumpur 30 07 08 KL… If you can see past the shopping centres and the tourists who go there just to shop, KL is actually an amazing city, WE WERE IN GOOD HANDS AND MOOKS KL took care of business from start to finish, we  bombed up back alleys carparks, street,s ate $1 local meals, brett and I lived up the massages, juan buying fake watches for a bit of steiz and sunset like you wouldn’t believe..
Hong Kong 04 08 08 HK..by this stage we had seen enough of each other, fights were breaking out like pinball machine on multiball, so we decided the only way to settle this was through a good old fashioned bb gun fight. we searched the kal loon streets for the meanest bb guns and yes hong kong has the best guns..apart from this story we cuprocked some amazing spots  ate some weird turtle and things couldn’t be better..so back to story we got gunned up and took over the top floor of our hotel and had a gnarly shoot out ,no protection ..juan got a shot between the eyes. I copped some  shots in the back of the head and brett vanished like Dahlsim.
