Cuprocking is the brain child of Sydney based artist Andy Uprock. By mapping out large areas of cyclone fencing and sticking plastic cups into the existing diamond shaped holes, Andy transforms streets and public areas into floating walk-by galleries. Andy typically uses around 2,500 individual cups for each piece and recycles them between each project.

10 07 08 Red wine, baguettes and a whole lot of cups in Paris

The first thing you notice when you step foot into Parisien land is that this city has defined its own. HIstory is so embedded here that the walls and the architecture resembles some what of the people, hard ,ridged, stern and strong and if you look at a map of paris its like one big eye, town planning has prime focus on the centre and vains of the cities movement flourish out in an omnipresent fashion, and apart from me going on like this is some BBC documentry, this place is so refined like the vintage wine we had enjoyed almost every night...jus ask Brett... and there was a reason to celebrate.. we hit the streets, went about our way and conquered..and if the boys were out romancing i was out dancing, and by this point i had eatin so many baguettes i was turning into a bread stick, and thanks to juan's suprised payout of 80 euro for a bottle of wine and our new found friend Frankie...this guy was so bad at hustling he couldnt steal coins from his granma, things got a little interesting...its nice sumtimes to be removed from the grimmey and chill with boys  like Raphael from VICE France who gave us personal tour of his daily famly life, and lets not forget Momo for still rockin  and reppin it strong, 36  & over weight but with more flavour than early 90's barber shop...Paris is good in so many ways...ill be back in Paris for a project early next year so until then vivent vos reves et votre coeur suivra...au revoir  /\ UP /\

04 07 08 Barci Barci Barci

Hola cada uno! Wow....well where do i start, i gave my heart to Barcelona and i definitely left a part of it there.... after three full days of exhibiting at the Bread n Butter numerous early morning parties, hitting up the streets starting day one n more late festive nights, its safe to say me & boys had a pretty smashing time. Thanks to Juan's fluent espanol we cruized around easily & Master Chans grandpa steiz for getting us in line and on time even though there was more purple haze lingering than a gypsy tent in a festival, everything worked out all sweet..ill be back at the end of this year as ive got some gallery offers and i guess this has always been my dream to reside in a city thats so culturally diverse and enriched with life, love & art....una ma's cosa...i had to take a little bit of my heart back and catch up with it in London her name is Gilli..

Adios todo el mejor....amo esta ciudad

See you in Paris

01 07 08 Sydney to Barcelona

Well fuck. hoop there it is....what a stupid long distance to travel...i knew this trip was going to be quite hectic and with having to clean my studio the night before being hauled over 30 hours of travel, we knew  this was the first test to this crazy world tour.. you see brett juan and i live our lives a bit left of centre and in some way with this trip it requires us to meet in the middle.  amongst ending up at the wrong terminals ,loosing our vice tour manager Jonny Goldcoast aka Mr Redfern in Hong Kong and eating all that rank aeroplane food with chemicals that stop you shitting...Lucky Brett brought all those snacks that you seem to forget while flying ,being confined to a space with the same degree of movement as a caged chicken we still passed the seasoned traveller test...Barcelona awaits our call.

28 05 08 MELBOURNE - ANDY UPROCK CUPROCKING EXHIBITION

Section 8 was made for cuprocking. It’s a small bar down a laneway in the city sectioned off by wire fences and by the time the night was over, everyone was surrounded by the art. It was our first proper event in Melbourne and we're looking forward to getting back there soon.

Check out the photos here.

21 03 08 SYDNEY, OXFORD ART FACTORY

We took over the Oxford Art Factory for a night of cuprocking and it looked incredible in an indoor setting. Brett’s video work was mad and we’d like to thank everyone who came to check it out.

Check out the photos here.

With the support of Mooks and VICE, Andy is taking on fences around the world along with photographer Juan Mon and videographer Brett Chan.
Barcelona 30 06 08 Andy and the guys will be doing a live installation at Bread & Butter - the world's premier fashion trade show.
Paris 05 07 08 We’ve asked the guys to get a photo of Andy cuprocking at the top of the Eiffel Tower and will only be satisfied with photographic evidence.
London 10 07 08 An exhibition will be hosted at VICE’s pub, Old Blue Last, 38 Great Eastern St Shoreditch EG2A 3ES on 11th July 2008. www.theoldbluelast.com
New York 18 07 08 The NYC cuprocking exhibition is on Friday July 18, 7pm to 10pm at Alphabeta, 70 Greenpoint Ave, Brooklyn (crn of Franklin & Greenpoint). Thanks to VICE for organising.
Los Angeles 20 07 08 It's no secret that the people in LA are familiar with all things plastic but we wonder whether they've seen anything quite like this before.
Tokyo 25 07 08 We imagine Andy and the guys are going to give the cyber goth brides and raver emo babies a run for their money in the attention stakes in Yoyogi Park
Kuala Lumpur 30 07 08 KL is bound to be ripe with fences and they will never have looked so colourful.
Hong Kong 04 08 08 The guys are going to have to compete with the ubiquitous billboard advertising in Hong Kong but we’re confident they’ll find some free fence to do their thing.
